Dates Production in 2001
This bar chart shows the top date producing countries in 2001, by tonnes. It is noticeable that the top six countries are above half a million tonnes.
The country which produced most dates is Egypt, around 1,100,000 tonnes. On the other hand, Libya is the smallest producer and it is a tenth of Egypt’s production with nearly 100,000 tonnes. Moreover, Iran took second place with output of approximately 850,000 tonnes. In addition, the UAE supplied the world with nearly 750,000 tonnes with Algeria around a half of UAE. Also the production of Iraq is close to Pakistan, around 650,000 tonnes. A bit higher, the UAE and Saudi Arabia are matched together with 750,000 tonnes. Finally, Algeria ,Libya, Oman and Sudan are the four countries with less than 400,000 tonnes.
To sum up , date production was over half a million tonnes in six countries , and the other four countries are less than 400,000 tonnes.
